Committed to Sustainable Agriculture
At Coffee Reserve, we understand the importance of procuring agriculturally sustainable coffees such as Rain Forest Alliance certified coffee and Fair Trade coffee. We want our coffees to reflect our values, by enhancing the lives of others and preserving the environment.
Coffee is one of the world’s most valuable traded commodities, produced in over 50 countries by over 25 million farmers and workers. It is a vital export to the developing countries that produce it, with Arabica coffee making up approximately 80% of the world’s coffee production.
The Rainforest Alliance partners with the Sustainable Agriculture Network (SAN) to certify coffee and other products produced within their strict guidelines, which protect the environment, wildlife, workers and local communities. The Rainforest Alliance has worked within the communities and with experts in science, agriculture and the environment to develop farm-management guidelines that maintain important traditions and eco-friendly practices, while maintaining a growing awareness of social responsibility and ensuring economic sustainability.
Fair Trade Coffee is produced under fair labor conditions. Coffee Reserve Brands cares about the conditions of the farmers who produce our coffee, and want to ensure that they receive a fair price for their labor and work in acceptable conditions. Small family farmers are organized into cooperatives around the world, and receive fair payments which can then be invested in healthcare, environmental stewardship, and education.
In the last twenty to thirty years, a shift was made to a more industrial type of coffee farming, known as “sun cultivation”, which was designed to increase crop yields and profits. The chemical use and deforestation necessary for this type of coffee farming resulted in the devastation of vast areas of bird habitats, and increased risk of chemical contamination for workers in these areas. The Rainforest Alliance and other organizations promote coffee producers who farm in the traditional “shade grown” manner, providing a tree and bird friendly environment. About 85% of Fair Trade coffee is shade grown and organic.
Coffee Reserve also procures certified organic coffee because we wish to support small farmers who work with traditional techniques and pass on sustainable farming practices through generations.

Coffee Reserve brings wholesale coffee and tea to food service distributors, office coffee service, coffee houses, restaurants and hotels.
